It sure does cost a lot. I decided that if I bought good professional clippers they would soon pay for themselves and a table. The best thing is you can do it when you want and as you say not have to wait for an appointment. I was paying £45 at time for both of mine ,travelling 50 miles there and back, lunch as well and at least 3 hours to find something to do.

I love the idea of being able to groom myself but I think I'd be too worried about getting it wrong. However like you say professional grooming is very expensive. Our local grooming place charges £37 for a Shih Tzu. Last night the trainer at puppy classes gave me a number of someone who works from home and is very good so I will see how much she charges as it does all add up

Welcome to the forum and a lovely pupo you have there! I have 2 males, one is a pup of 11 weeks old and the other one is his dad and is 3,5 years old. He is a qualified stud dog and has won 2 BOB so far.

I did wonder why Lesley didn't mention you Famke! How is Kiran doing? Is he settling in OK?

It isn't difficult to do all the grooming yourself Lyn, once you have done it a few times you get the hang of it.

Have been to 2 outdoor companion shows with Dai since being on here, note to self "no more outdoor shows when windy, wet"

He hated it obviously thinks somebody is after him as he doesnt like the wind blowing behind him, wouldnt stand, and got soaked bless him went to ringcraft last night and he went beautifully, The classes in my first open show in Pwllheli are AV utility puppy and minor puppy, Im looking forward to going to one that is Shih pup only, to see how he gets on ..

Sorry but I didn't forget Famke - but Lyn is in West Wales and I mentioned Carlita as she is likely to be bumping into her at shows...by our I meant "in Wales" . Having said that Famke has two lovely dogs and a lot of knowledge for getting your dogs coat into condition etc and indeed is one of our show members xxxxxx

yes Lesley very, Darcy got his 4 cc, and Madison still doing very well and Cassidy finally found out what her tail was for and got a 2nd so qualified for crufts , Darcy wont be going next year as its Michael Harrper doing shih tzu, going over to Ireland tommorow for Belfast Champ show on Sunday, enjoy you wine Sands and Lesley early bed for me

Wow that is good for Cassidy to have qualified for Crufts. I am sure my memory is correct she is out of the same litter as Madison. Also good luck for tomorrow in Ireland. Not far to the ferry for you? And yes we did enjoy the wine, cannot beat a good red!!!

Madison is a Miracey bitch and about 6 weeks older than Cassidy, yes not far to the port just down the road we had a lovely crossing and we are now in our room at the Hotel. thanks for the good wishes we will try our best, Carly been showing today and had a 3rd and Teigan had a 2nd in the handling, so not a bad day

Silly question I know but when do they learn to hold their tail up? Daisy's tail doesn't curve over her back like a lot of the pictures I have seen or is that because she is young still

Hi how old is Daisy, they ususlly have their tails up as soon as they are walking just straight up in the air and they come over as they get older
