Re: New to the forum
Well still no success in trying to get hold of the breeder, so really not sure what to do. I did send a message to the Shih Tzu puppy co-ordinator as that is where I got the breeder info from, but not heard back from there either.

That is very disappointing for you . I do think it is bad when people do not return your phonecall or your e mails promptly. Even if she has sold the little puppy you wanted , you would think she would do the decent thing and tell you. There of course could be a genuine reason for not answering your calls.

I am assuming she is still away, least I am hoping that is the case. I've lost count of the amount of breeders I have phoned from the Manchu Breeder list and also the Kennel Club to find a white/gold female puppy and either they have none at all, they are male or a different colour or they are too far away to go and see them

I have been looking for you for over an hour but not come up with much. You would think there would be a good choice at this time of year. I looked on Champ Dogs and Breeders Online websites. Otherwise I think you will have to keep looking and waiting until something comes up. I am not sure just whereabouts you are and how far you want to travel. You can PM me with the first half of your Post Code I may be able to help you better, if you like. Go to PM under your details on the left hand side and click on that.
Re: New to the forum
Thanks very much sands for looking for me
I had a call from the breeder last night
Seems they were home a couple of days later than usual as they do the dog shows at the place they holiday and the show had changed from Saturday to Sunday, hence them not being home till Monday. So the puppy is still for sale, which is good. Going to arrange to see her, which will hopefully be this week. I'm not very good at going distances as I have agoraphobia, so will have to try and sort something out as I would really love to be able to see her and the other dogs too, just need to find a time when the roads are quiet as it means a drive along the M25 and M11

I am so pleased that she has got in contact with you and she is still for sale. I totally understand your wanting to go when thee roads are quiet . I don't drive long distances myself but did drive down the M4 yesterday to meet my daughter but had daughter no 1 and grandaughters with me. keep us updated. That is good news.
Re: New to the forum
I'm getting very excited now, but a bit nervous too. From what I have been reading it seems to be very important when you have a dog already to make sure a new puppy has it's own eating and sleeping area away from where other dogs are. So I'm going to have to put some thought into making sure our labrador doesn't feel "put out". She is a very friendly dog and loves other dogs too, so hopefully won't be too much of a problem, but of course meeting other dogs outside is not the same as one living in the same house.
As for driving, I haven't driven since I caught one of the alloys on OH's new car coming down one of those whirly gig things in a multi storey car park

Re: New to the forum
Glad the breeder finally got back to you and still has the pup for sale. Just keep thinking about what you are going to see and I am sure you will find the drive easier. Is there anyone that could come with you so you have someone to talk to and take your mind off of any worries that you have? I am sure that once you see the pup you will be very excited anyway.
You are doing all of the homework beforehand which is very good, so I am sure that you will have no problems once you get your pup home.

Re: New to the forum
I will have to get my OH to take me as I can't remember the last time I drove on the motorway
Just hoping that if I can't get there myself that the breeder would be happy to let OH go and see the puppy as he knows exactly what to look for and what questions to ask, although obviously I would love to be able to see all the other dogs she has
