The things they do

Post by Liz b on Mon Apr 16, 2012 12:17 pm

This is a bit of a random post but thought I would anyway lol
I was discussing with my partner maggies other mommy about the things se does that make us laugh or raise a eyebrow an how very different she is to our other dog Henry.
We have always said Maggie is like a lodger not a dog not to humanise her but she does not growl when angry she huffs and puffs
So many facal expressions and when she does not want to listen she turns her back on us or stuffs her head in the sofa pretending she is not there
She shuffles ( kicks her legs around like after goin to loo ) when happy or wants something.
Puts her self outside for a wee and goes into her crate at 2145 on the dot she even pulls the door shut But she always try's to take a toy with her an I have to tell her no every night.
She sings so loud to squeaky toys that next door can hear .
Sits in the sun all day or in an on top of the lavender brush.
Here is the weirdest thing she has to smell my face when greeting me as in nose right in face if I don't she will try until she does she smells then snorts when finished ( like being sneezed on lol) she does this while rolling around and kind of growling.
The list is so long but my other dog has none of this crazy behaviour does not do any other this she makes me laugh doing everything she is not meant to
Does any one else have a crazy shih tzu who do silly things ?

Sorry to disappoint you but Maggie sounds just like a typical Shih Tzu to me! bouncy lol They think they are little people and will watch you and try to do the same things themselves. Smile

Yes I am afraid that the whole list is typical shih tzu behaviour lmao IU remember reading of Audrey Dadds books on the shih tzu when I first came into the breed many moons ago and all the "unique" traits my first puppy had were described in detail there lol!
Another thing I have discovered as I bred a couple of litters is that some traits are not common to all shih tzu but are passed down through families even if they have never met each other eg mysecond girl Gemma used to snake along the floor to greet me sneezing as she did so. She died long before her granddaughter was even thought about but when her granddaughter came along she did exactly the same thing - though her other sisters did not Very Happy

Just some strange thing she does, if u tell her to go for a wee she will not go ask her I she wants to she will also sitting on top of the crate when I say it's time for bed have to tell her off then in lol it's the strange greeting has to smells everyone's face and roll around grunting. Also hates change she hates my knombs in the garden and will circuit the garden and have a grunt at them in discussed she is no way a diva or Madame but knows what she wants and heaven forbid if I say otherwise. The vet got a good damn ignoring today and kept shuffling her legs so he could not pick pick her up. Lol

Isabella does that and when she is excited when I come home she won't go out to do a wee without a toy in her mouth which she puts down while she goes and then turns and picks it up again when she has Smile

That's better than Simba who puts his toy down, turns in a circle and then pees over his toy! lol!

We have a 5 min performance with mags deciding were the best place to pee is even stranger thing she puts her front legs on a flower pot to poop or a wall she stands and poops and has done since 11 weeks lol.
Funny about the toy the only time mags has peed on herself is when a massive gust of wind court her side on she had one of her back leg up ( lady Maggie must not stand in it lol) and she was blown like a white furry tumbleweed into the fence mid pee had to rescue her as she was pinned on her side lol
