Welcome Jeffjeannie and Max. We are getting quite a few Shih Tzu owners from Wales on here. Hopefully we can all meet up at The Burns Dogs Day Out at Pembrey in September. We did this last year and it was a really nice day out. Just say if there is anything you want to know there is always someone who can help on here. Can we see photo's of Max. What colour is he?

Hi Jean, there is only one tip to give you, and that is enjoy Max while he is a puppy because they grow so fast and these cheeky puppy days go so quickly. Also make sure you take plenty of photos because you don't want to miss a thing! Smile

Hi and welcome....my advice is be aware that shiddies are very, very...very addictive because they are an adorable loving breed. Dont be surprised if you end up with 8 like we have lol!

Keep on top of grooming especially around their eyes and bottoms and the first sign of a smelly bottom means their anal glands need cleaning. Keep on top of ear hair as it causes problems for them and could turn serious as it did with one of ours.

However, they are all different and not everyone encounters the same issues. Main thing is as already said, enjoy them day in day out as they do grow fast. Enjoy the daily manic half hour - ours used to be at 9pm on the dot - went beserk playing - so enjoyable.

Have fun....will keep you active for sure
