We've said our final goodbye to Queen Belle.
Just to keep you updated, we took Belle for euthanasia this morning . She had deteriorated quite badly over the last two days & lost the use of her back legs then was unable to go to the toilet, so I knew it was the right time.
I held her on my lap in the car in her fave blanket as I did not want her in a carrier for her last moments. We were very lucky as the lady who used to pet-sit for us when we went on hol's was on duty (Receptionist/Nurse) & she assisted the vet, so Belle had someone she knew there too. The vet was very kind & gentle & she fell asleep in my arms, then stopped breathing.
We are having her cremated & her ashes returned, so we can scatter them over her fave spot in the garden. (We did this with our old Tom too a few years back).
We are all a bit sad today even Princess Mimi who can obviously sense it, she keeps going in the cupboard to look for our old pusser (her recent hide-away). It's a horrible wet day too, so no walkies to cheer us up at the moment .

Re: We've said our final goodbye to Queen Belle.
So sorry for your loss, it is the hardest, bravest, and eventually the best decision we can make for our animals when their time has come.
I'm thinking of you and your family, and sending positive wishes to Queen Belle on her journey across Rainbow Bridge.

So sorry for your loss and the pain that you must be going through at this hard time. I shed a tear for as it brings back many sad memories. It is the best thing that you could have done and at least now you are safe in the knowledge that she is free from pain xxxx

Sorry to hear your sad news - but at least Belle is now pain free and playing and running free at rainbow bridge. I know it is hard at the moment but one day not so far away you will be able to look back on your time together with love and smile again at the memories

So sorry to hear of your loss. In time you will be able to look back on the great life you gave her and the memories you shared with a smile. She is running free at Rainbow Bridge. My thoughts are with you at this sad time

Re: We've said our final goodbye to Queen Belle.
Thank you all so much for your thoughts & wishes, I know most of you have probably experienced the death of a pet too & it does help to share with people who are animal lovers.
There are those that just don't understand how a cat or dog can mean so much to us but I say it's their loss; not to experience that sort of love! On the down side however it is devastating when we do loose them .
I've just been on the petlog (microchip) website to update them & I was digging out all Belle's papers, as I've also got to ring the insurance company tomorrow to cancel that & I had a little cry over her vaccination & teeth cleaning card .
I missed her so much this morning, as she used to jump up on the bed & curl up on my lap purring while we had our first cuppa of the day. I lifted Mimi up in the end & she sat between us wondering why she was allowed on the bed - but pleased to bits she was. (I used to have the bed as a dog-free zone, so Belle could have some peace as it's too high for Mimi to get on).
I still talk to Belle as if she is there, it makes me feel better & I can imagine her little face staring up at me when I go in the cupboard.
"Goodbye my friend". :angel3:
