I'm a newbie

Post by Gem2010 on Sun Mar 07, 2010 7:44 pm

Hi
I'd like to introduce myself as I've only just joined this afternoon, first thankyou all for the wonderful welcome Smile secondly, we only became Shihtzu owners for the first time today, we went only to see the puppy and ended up coming home with him, he's the most adorable little fur ball you have ever seen, I'm so in love with him right now Smile
He's 12 weeks old and a browny, blacky sort of colour with wonderful soft fur and 2 white paws, we've decided to call him Archie.

If anyone has got any tips or advice that they can give me, I'd happyly take it and whatever words you'd like to say
Thanks for having me

Gem x

Hi Gem,

There will be so much advice on here already and everyone is really friendly and helpful. Everyone will love Archie, I am sure. They will also be very jeaslous, including me lol! Enjoy him while he is small as they grow up so quickly!

Hi Gem and welcome to the forum and also to the elite club of shih tzu owners - your life will NEVER ever be the same again (and i mean that in a wonderful way Very Happy) There are lots of things on here already and one thing I would suggest is to have a look at the house training threads - as they might be useful for you and also the clicker training sections I have prepared because you cannot start them too young - and I think that you will be amazed at how quickly Archie will learn and want to please you (and that doesn't last for long lol!)

If you need any help just shout - right now I am off to meet your young baby xxx

Hi Gem and welcome to the Shih Tzu Whisper forum, the best place for advice on these wonderful dogs. If the advice you need isn't on here someone will be able to help. I have two girls would love to have another as Rooney& Roxy said earlier she would too, and if it were up to me he would be 8 months old already lol. As Simbalove said your life will never be the same again but only for the better. How about some photo's of Archie? welcome

Hi Gem and welcome to Whispers. Congratulations on you new fur baby, he sounds gorgeous. If you have any problems just give a shout and between us all, we should be able to help. I don't think their are many things that we haven't been able to help with over time!

As other have said make the most of these first few innocent days, because mischief and cheek are two of a Shih Tzu's strongest characteristics! They are very quick to learn, especially if it is to their own advantage, but they are lovely companions and make friends with everyone. Make sure you take plenty of photos because they grow up so quickly, and we all love to see puppy photos on here! lol!
