Newbie here...hello from Lancaster
Hello, I have just joined this site, I am a total obsessive when it comes to Shih-Tzus but sadly don't own one. I worked full until 2 years ago when I had to finish on ill health grounds so wouldn't get a dog as I wouldn't have one when I'm out all day. As I have become to get a little better, I have been looking desperately for a companion and best friend, either a puppy or older shih tzu but have had no luck. I have either been lied to or let down or both, and although I am not particular on colour, sex, age, I just want a very friendlly dog with other peple and other dogs as I walk alot, I can either not afford the pup ( my budget is only £450) or they live too far away and cannot get to see them. I don't have access to a car as my husband takes the car to work 6 days a week, so I struggle to see dogs that are far from me.
Sorry to moan on on my first post, but I saw this website in my dogs monthly magazine and desperately hope someone reading this may know of a litter of pups or an older one that need a very loving home, near where I live in Lancaster, Lancashire.
Thanks, I just know I will love this website ........

But if it is the right puppy it is not that far away and it will be worth waiting a little bit longer. Don't be tempted to get the wrong puppy just because you are desperate to have one hun (I am a fine one to speakperoxideblader wrote:Thanks everyone, I have just had a text off a friend tonight, they all look out for my little baby to be but it was just to say she knows a lady who is having her bitch mated next week, and the pups will be ready if she is pregnant about November.....aaarrrghhhhh can't wait that long, I've waited 2 years, its soooo hard xx

Hi and welcome to the forum. I only joined last week, after we had done loads of investigating which breed to get to help my mum after she has had a stroke. She wanted a friendly companion to keep her company. Believe it or not she has waited 30 years for the right time to get a dog. As you can see from my avatar, we now have our bundle of fur (I keep saying our, but Simba belongs to my mum and dad, I am his surrogate mum!), and all I can say is, he is making his presence well and truly felt!
Keep looking and you will soon find the right dog for you, or rather the right dog will find you. Don't feel pressurised into buying the first dog you see, we walked away from the first litter we saw, but with the second one everything just felt right.
The forum is really friendly, and everyone has made me feel really welcome, and there is loads of advice whatever you need to know.

I live in Lancaster but would be prepared to travel up to about hour and half each way, but maybe that little further for the right dog, would just have to sweet talk my hubby as he would be the driver he he
And thanks Sujay, your pup looks gorgeous, and I won't rush into the first litter, there is one breeder around me who is always advertising, about the only one there is near to me, but I know the condition her bitch and the pups are kept in and I would not only never buy one off her, but really want to report her to the RSPCA as I'm sure they are cruelly confined.
I'll keep my fingers crossed, I have a few leads but the pups aren't even due until Sept ish so have to grow some patience!!! xx

Re: Newbie here...hello from Lancaster
I would consider either, my last 3 dogs were all rescue but were all under a year old, my only concern with a rescue dog or an older dog, is if they have problems it is alot harder to get them out of it and with having a family and needing a dog and people friendly dog, I have been advised to start with a clean slate and get a pup.
