Greetings from Finland
Dear members of this forum,
I accidently found this forum and now I registrated. I am 32 years old nurse from Finland. I have grown up among the dogs and my first own dog was shih tzu female, I got her when I was 12 years old. Since that shih tzu´s has been my passion and only "true" breed.
Today I also have westie and spanish mastiffs, but shih tzu´s will be always my number one breed. Now I have only one shih tzu with my friend, but I am seeking female puppy for his companion.
It is nice to be here, and with very big intrest I start reading topics .
-Mari

Re: Greetings from Finland
Thanks for everyone of your nice words! This shih tzu male that we now have, is young male, born 25.12.07. He is a "mix" between american and europian shih tzus. His father is Win Gates Bohemian Acro and mother is finnish bred female, Lovelions Licks´n´Kisses, who has Lhakang and Santosha dogs in her pedigree. "Pörri" is quit nice type of male, he has nice body proportions, but some details tells, that he ain´t fully " the correct type". He has a bit small head, his tail could be higher and he for sure has too much coat . But he is really nice youngster and I hope we get to the show rings soon. We was about to take him to shows already, but he has had very bad luck. He hurt his eye and it took long time to heal. Luckily he was luck enought to have his sight back.
I had my first shih tzu in ´89. It was black and white female from "norwegian" lines, Boreas dogs for example was in her pedigree. "Manta" was really shih tzu, her charcter was something that can´t eaven imagine. Manta is the reason for my passion of this wonderfull breed. I don´t actually like all small breeds, but shih tzu, it is so very different.
Manta had one litter, and two of her girls I left home. Other was black and white female, who has wrong bite. And other was gold and white female, who successed on shows nicely.
There has been now years without shih tzu´s, because I thought that I rase my kids a bit older and then start looking shih tzus for us. For me shih tzu´s coat is it´s crown, and grooming shih tzu takes time. So this far I have had these "easier" breeds and now that my kids are away from dipers, I can start having shih tzu´s again .
We have five mastin espanols with my husband. Four of them we have imported from Czech Republic and fifth is straight from country of origin, Spain. These dogs are giant molosser, livestock guardians, and they mostly spend their time outside doing their job, guarding. Mastins are the other breed for me, that gets my passion like shih tzu´s do.
We have also one westie at home. Having terrier...it was accident . My dear friends breeds those and I took female to co-ownership from her. Westies are very nice dogs, but speaking the truth, I think that they don´t ever have me feel so strongly as these two other breeds too. But westie is very active little dog, and my oldest daughter is training her to agility. I also have two co-owned westies, who don´t live at my house but with my friends. They we imported from Holland and from Slovenia. And now my friend is seeking another import...suprisingly from U.K. ), where the true westies live .
We live at country side in small village in Eastern Finland, North Carelia. We live in 50 metres long house, witch used to be a school, but was ended in late of ´90´s. So we have space for our hairy kids and for our "not-so-hairy" kids too ).
Oh, we do have three cats also and goat, who lives with us in summer time and winters it is in my friends stable with her horses. Goat is called Otto and he is funny dude. He loves candys and he is personal trainer for our younger mastines .
So here are some details about me and my life with dogs.

As for Porri - he is nicely in proprtion and I actually like his head The tail doesn't look too bad either - so hopefully he will do some winning for you in the shows.... and we want to hear all about it
