Looking for Girl Shih Tzu

Post by Thunders Mum on Tue Feb 02, 2010 12:01 pm

Hello just found this site seems ideal - I am looking for a female Shih Tzu or Shih Tzu X as company for my lovely 4 yr old rescue GSD Boy. He has just been castrated and is really settled. I had this combination previously and they were great friends, sadly I lost both of them within 3 weeks of each other last Summer. If anyone knows of a little girl needing a really good loving home please contact me.

Have you had a look on the Many Tears Rescue site? They always seem to have bitch rescue shiddies available as they take in puppy farmed bitches. Or are you looking specifically for a puppy?

My boy has a fantastic time with his GSD cousins and when my sister had a shih tzu too, she was the boss and as the elder she also showed the young GSDs how to play so that now when Honey plays with Josh she plays like a shih tzu which looks so cute and funny in a big dog Very Happy

Welcome to the forum btw x

Girl Shih Tzu

Post by Thunders Mum on Wed Feb 03, 2010 9:29 pm

Thanks I have looked at Many Tears and will contact them at the weekend - not bothered too much about age up to 5 years would be fine. I know what you mean about the little one being the boss that was always the case with my other GSD and Shih Tzu. I would have loved to have gone for the 6yr old one needing a home but I think my boy would be more likely to accept a little girl, I did have an elderly male shih tzu when my mum died for 3 years and I had to be wary of him with my GSD initially as he was a little bossy boots and did try his luck they both loved the little girl but tolerated each other.

Ooh got my fingers crossed for you then Very Happy I know what you mean about an older male... Josh is very bossy and although I don't worry about him with my sisteres female gsd Honey I am very wary with Zeus the male who, although he had always put up with Josh's tellings off when he was younger, he became a slightly different dog when the bitch arrived - despite him being neutered - and he did retaliate with Josh once when they were running after a toy - so when they meet I am always on my guard (cos Josh doesn't know how small and ineffective he is lol!)
